Your Library Card

Register for a new library card:

City of Keene residents and qualifying non-residents (see eligibility requirements below) can apply for a free Keene Public Library Card by:

Non-residents can purchase a Keene Public Library card by:

  • Visiting the library’s circulation desk and completing an application (photo ID and address verification required)
  • Paying a membership fee, at one of the rates listed below, using cash or a personal check

Renew an existing library card:

City of Keene residents can renew their library card in-person or by calling 603-352-0157.

Non-residents and qualifying non-residents can renew their library in-person during normal operating hours.

Register for a Cheshire County Special Borrowers card:

Residents of Cheshire County, (Alstead, Chesterfield, Dublin, Fitzwilliam, Gilsum, Harrisville, Hinsdale, Jaffrey, Keene, Marlborough, Marlow, Nelson, Richmond, Rindge, Roxbury, Stoddard, Sullivan, Surry, Swanzey, Troy, Walpole, Westmoreland, and Winchester),who would like to only borrow from the Garden Tool Library and Outdoor Gear Library collections, can register for a free Cheshire County Special Borrowers card by:

Cheshire County covers Alstead, Chesterfield, Dublin, Fitzwilliam, Gilsum, Harrisville, Hinsdale, Jaffrey, Keene, Marlborough, Marlow, Nelson, Richmond, Rindge, Roxbury, Stoddard, Sullivan, Surry, Swanzey, Troy, Walpole, Westmoreland, and Winchester.

This card can not be used to borrow Items from the library's main collection, the Library of Things collection, or Keene State College's Mason Library. This card also does not provide Cheshire County Special Borrowers access to Museum Passes or digital resources, such as Overdrive, hoopla, of kanopy.
