Green Up Keene

Springtime in New Hampshire! As it starts to warm up, buds on the trees start to swell, flowers begin to poke out of the ground, and small furry creatures emerge blinking into the light. And as the piles of snow melt away, trash that has accumulated over the winter starts to come out of hiding from under the snowbanks.

Would you like to help but can't make it on April 25th?   Not a problem - Groups that would prefer to volunteer during the preceding week, or on Sunday, may pick up garbage bags and gloves at the Keene Public Works Department Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Just give us a call before stopping by so we can have your supplies ready for you! (603-352-6550)

Want to Sign Up Ahead of Time? Contact Andrea at 603-352-6550 or

To see designated pickup routes along which roadside cleanup trash may be left during the Green Up Keene event click here. Crews from the Department of Public Works and Waste Management drive these routes during the cleanup event, and again on the following Monday, to remove roadside litter that has been collected by volunteers and placed in the blue “NH Beautiful” bags.
