The Roxbury Street Bridge will be CLOSED to all vehicles and pedestrians beginning on Monday, June 29, 2020. The bridge is located between Norway Avenue and Harrison Street. The bridge will be closed to all traffic for 60 days. Concrete barriers will be installed across the roadway and sidewalk near the bridge. A vehicle detour is in place along Washington, Beaver, and Franklin Streets. A pedestrian detour is in place along Norway Avenue, Church Street, and Harrison Street. See link below for the detour plan, which will be active the morning of June 29, 2020.
The Roxbury Street Bridge was first built in the 1800s and has not received major repairs since 1922. The City is replacing the bridge through the New Hampshire Department of Transportation State Aid Bridge Program.
We understand that closure of the bridge creates an inconvenience for businesses, residents, and roadway users. Thank you in advance for your patience.
