The Keene Public Library announces a free two-week summer reading enrichment camp for early readers entering first, second, and third grades. Camp Fun-to-Read will be held August 6th through August 17th from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Keene Public Library, 60 Winter Street. The two-week special camp will help new readers keep their reading skills sharp! Program activities will include Readers Theatre performances, stories, songs, games, puzzles, crafts. Everything at Camp Fun-to-Read involves letters or reading, as do the crafts or other ‘hands-on’ activities. Crafts center on the books being read, such as making stick puppets of the characters. A selection of Easy Readers, early chapter books, and picture books will be on display and available for check-out, and the children will be given time to browse through them during camp time and as they’re leaving.
Registration for Camp Fun-to-Read has begun and will continue through July 30. Participants will be notified as soon as possible. For more information, please call Amy Kraemer at 603-352-0157.
