Keene Library To Offer Virtual Book Discussions for Teens and Adults

Keene Public Library users and Keene residents are encouraged to join four online book discussions and author programs this January.

Adults are invited to grab a snack and a cup of tea or coffee and login into Books and Bites on Tuesday, January 19th at 4 p.m. Librarians will share some adult and youth books, both fiction and conviction, about arctic adventures and expeditions. The new book “Arctic Fury” by Greer Macallister will be featured along with others such as “Bound By Ice: A True North Pole Survival Story” by Sandra Neil Wallace and Rich Wallace and “Shopping for Porcupine: A Life in Arctic Alaska” by Seth Kantner. Adults can also tune into an author talk with Greer Macallister on Wednesday, January 27th, at 7 p.m.

The Teen Virtual Book Club title, “What Kind of Girl" by Alyssa Sheinme, examines how society treats women and girls and inspires the power to claim your worth. What kind of girl stays after her boyfriend hits her? Teens can sign up and attend an online discussion of “What Kind of Girl” on Wednesday, January 20h at 1 p.m. and attend an author talk with Alyssa Sheinme on Tuesday, January 26th at 7 p.m.

Digital copies of the featured books can be checked out to Keene Public Library cardholders. To check out a digital copy of this month's book, visit the Book Club webpage at Once on the site, follow these directions:

  • Click on the LOGIN button in the top right corner to create a Library ID.
  • For the LIBRARY ID, enter the letters KPLBC + the last 5 digits of your phone number.
  • For the PIN, select a passcode of your choice.
  • Ebooks will be available to download and read throughout January.
