Explore Earth Open House Kick-Off Event, Oct. 19

Explore Earth: Our Changing Planet is an interactive, all-ages exhibition that explores local earth science topics such as weather, the water cycle, and how changes in our local ecosystem impact the global environment. The Keene Public Library was selected to be one of eleven sites nationwide to host this exhibit, from October 17, 2018, to December 14, 2018.

The exhibit opening reception will be held on Friday, October 19 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Representatives from local groups will be on hand to share information, activities, and citizen science projects. There will be hands-on activities for visitors of all ages as well as refreshments. Teachers can tour the exhibit, book a class visit to the library and meet our science instructors.

Participants include Harris Center for Conservation EducationUNH Cooperative Extension - Cheshire CountyUNH Picture Post NetworkNH Plastic Pollution Alliance, and Elm City Compost Initiative.

Explore Earth: Our Changing Planet, a traveling exhibition for libraries, is part of the STAR Library Education Network (STAR_Net) led by the National Center for Interactive Learning at the Space Science Institute. Exhibit partners include the American Library Association, the Lunar and Planetary Institute, and Afterschool Alliance. Explore Earth is supported through a grant from the National Science Foundation.
