Do you work for or patronize a business that goes the extra mile to protect the environment?Do any businesses inspire you to go green?If so please take the time to nominate them for the second annual Keene Green Business of the Year Award.

The 10% Challenge is a voluntary program to help businesses reduce greenhouse gas emissions by a minimum of ten percent. The 10% Challenge provides the tools and the information necessary to conserve energy in the workplace. This year's award is supported by the following various community partners:

• Greater Keene Chamber of Commerce,
• Monadnock Sustainability Network, and

The 10% Challenge is a recommendation for action included in the Keene Cities for Climate Protection Local Action Plan (2004). This plan was produced by the City of Keene as a member of the Cities for Climate Protection program. The Cities for Climate Protection Program is administered by ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability.

The City of Keene has been a member of ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability since 2000. This project is possible through membreship with ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability, Clean Air-Cool Planet and Keene's Cities for Climate Protection (CCP) Committee.
