Engineering Division
The Engineering Division, under the supervision of a registered State of New Hampshire Professional Engineer (PE), plans, designs, prepares contracts and specifications and manages public improvement construction projects within the City.
 

Each year a five-year Capital Improvement Program addresses the City's infrastructure needs including street reconstruction and resurfacing, water system improvements, drainage improvements, sewer rehabilitation and related items. A component of this program is the annual street evaluation survey which prioritizes the rehabilitation of all streets within the City on a cost effective basis.

This Division is also responsible for plan reviews and construction inspection of subdivisions and site permit applications as they pertain to drainage and the construction of public utilities.

The Engineering division investigates citizen requests for public improvements and traffic control devices and provides information such as floodplain boundaries, aerial contour photographs, recorded locations of City utilities and subdivisions and site permit applications as they pertain to drainage and the construction of public utilities. Street, water system, and sewer system maps are prepared by the Engineering Division and are available at a nominal charge.
