Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a mapping system that uses computer software program and hardware to collect, store, manipulate, display and analyzes geographic data.
A working GIS integrates five key components: hardware, software, data, people, and methods.
GIS mapping and analysis provides for the visualization of relationships, trends and patterns, and answers questions about the world around us.
The City of Keene's GIS resides in the Planning Department however the GIS staff provides citywide support. Our mission is to continues to leverage existing data, technology, and infrastructure to grow a comprehensive enterprise resource for the city and residents.
