Information Technology
The Information Management Services (IMS) Department implements hardware and software information systems that improve government services. In partnership with all City departments and other agencies, IMS coordinates all City Information Technology (IT) projects in an effort to implement integrated IT solutions which best enable departments to accomplish their respective missions. IMS operations are driven by the guiding principles identified in the City’s Information Technology Master Plan.
General Responsibilities:
IMS is responsible for all telephone and information systems installed in all City departments. Systems range from e-mail software to network communications hardware, and all systems are centralized in the IMS Department when feasible to enhance the accessibility of comprehensive solutions. The department assumes the following responsibilities for all IT projects and systems:
