 It is the City's aim to employ the best-suited person to fill each position based on required standards, training, experience, and abilities to succeed in this professional service organization.  Employees are not required to reside in Keene, although employees in some positions may be required as a condition of employment to live within a certain radius of the work location to facilitate emergency callbacks. 

A background investigation is carried out and references are checked by the City prior to anyone's employment.  Depending on the position, a pre-employment drug test, physical examination, and/or psychological examination also may also be required.  All records are safeguarded in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
