Parking Services Officer
The City of Keene is looking for a highly-motivated, positive, people-oriented person to join our Parking Services team. This position interacts intensively with the public on an ongoing basis monitoring. Successful candidate will enforce parking regulations, issue citations, and be able to answer questions from residents, businesses and visitors regarding city geography and other general matters. Being a good communicator in responding to customer complaints, questions and concerns is a talent for fostering success.Maintenance of single space meters, multi-space meters and signage; collecting coinage from meters; and resolving problems surrounds parking enforcement are also the responsibilities of this position. Additional duties may also include data processing, ticket processing, responding to customer concerns, and other clerical/administrative support activities.
The majority of duties associated with the position are accomplished on foot and/or in a vehicle for the purpose of enforcing parking ordinances, which includes timed parking enforcement by meter regulation or chalking tires in metered and non-metered areas. Successful candidate must be able to carry up to 60 lbs.; to walk outdoors for long periods of time in all weather conditions; and to observe and record data with a high level of accuracy. Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Work schedules will include both regular weekday and weekend hours.
High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license are required. Starting pay is $17.88/hour; four days/week for a total of 34 hours.
